Game On Episodes

Episode 1 - Signature Moves
How good do your moves have to be to change not only your team, but the entire sport you're playing? From Kareem Abdul-Jabbar getting grounded in college to Simone Biles pushing the very limits of what the human body can do, we'll explore the athletes who changed the game with their signature moves.

Episode 2 - Peak Performance
Do you ever wonder how athletes have the energy to play 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 82 games a season, 1,458 innings a year (we did the math, that's 162 x 9)!? Well, it takes a whole lot of commitment and a whole lot of cutting-edge recovery and nutrition techniques. Join us as we learn how athletes go from eating plant-based to winning first place and taking ice baths to icing a game 7. Featuring an interview with sports trainer Kelly Dormandy.

Episode 3 - Athletes Have Hobbies Too
If you had to choose between being an NBA player or a musician, which would you pick?  Trick question - why not be both!? From rappers to chefs to gamers, this episode showcases the weird and wild ways that professional athletes have fun off the court.

Episode 4 - Cursed
Athletes and sports fans are a superstitious bunch. In this episode, we look at some of the biggest sports curses of all time, from the time a real goat cursed the Chicago Cubs to various video game-based curses. But are any of these curses actually real? Featuring an interview with Emmy Award-winning writer and podcast Jason Concepcion.

Episode 5 - Sportsmanship
Some of the most famous events in sports history are the most scandalous. From the 1919 Black Sox to Deflategate, we take a rollicking trip down memory lane to revisit shocking moments throughout sports history. As we stop by all these unsavory events, we discuss the true meaning of sportsmanship and why respect for the rules is important.

Episode 6 - Full Court Swag
NBA athletes are known for a lot of things: slam dunkin;’ three point shootin,’ and ankle-breaking crossovers. But there is one thing that some NBA players are also known for: their fashion prowess. In this episode, we’ll take a look at the ways in which making a fashion statement in the NBA is about so much more than just wearing cool clothes. Featuring an interview with fashion expert Melissa Chataigne.

Episode 7 - When Games Become Sports
Did you know that the game of tag is actually an official sport? It is, we promise!  What about Disc Golfing? That’s a sport too. Even video games are sports now! But when is a game just a game, and when does it become a sport? In this episode, we’ll find out just how blurry the line really is between the playground and ESPN 2. Featuring an interview with champion disc golfer Paige Pierce.

Episode 8 - Ceiling Smashers
Newsflash: sports isn’t just a boys club anymore! There are many women, trans and non-binary athletes, coaches, and commentators who are carving out a space for themselves in the sports world. In this episode we highlight a few of these iconic “ceiling smashers,” – both past and present – who are living proof that sports truly are for everyone. Featuring CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, Cynt Marshall.
